Hard to Find

Leopards are my favourite cat. It goes right back to when I was younger and used to avidly watch Big Cat Diary. I distinctly remember Half-Tail the leopard, and her daughter. Unlike the lions who proudly sat preening on their rocks, or the cheetahs who curiously climbed over the film crews land rovers, the leopards were always tricky to find, camouflaged in the trees and grass. Harder to find, but worth it. Isn't that the way it always is?

Horse

Do you give the horse its strength

or clothe its neck with a flowing mane?

Horses are the noblest of creatures, they have so much power and yet they carry us, perform for us, follow us and - if you're lucky like me - sing to you whenever they see you. If you've ever had your heart touched by a horse, you'll know what I mean.

Transform

100th Post! I know, what took me so long. This blog has now had over ten thousand views! Okay, so probably five thousand of them were my mum (oh hi!) but even she couldn't have loaded this page ten thousand times so thank you to everyone who's visited, left comments, or emailed me as a result of this blog (even if some of those were slightly on the creepy side, still, thank you).

This month's theme for Transform was 'Thinking Like Jesus'. I don't think we can understand how Jesus thought or thinks, he's God! God's got to be able to think beyond our imagining or well, he wouldn't be God! But, one thing I think we can safely say about Jesus is that he was focused; focused on his Father in heaven, and on his Kingdom Mission. So for the artwork I chose to make these little 'focus' matchboxes; to take with you wherever you go as a reminder to just bring things back into focus.

You can find matchbox templates on the internet and they are fairly easy to make, takes about 2 or 3 minutes for each one. The template I used can be found by clicking HERE.

Silence & Sound

Loud. Through my chest. Rib, rib, lung. Heart. Play it louder.

Dark, bright, flashing light. Legs, hands, wristbands. Play it louder.

Waves, rolling, crashing, splashing. I sink to the bottom for a rest, almost crushed. Dangerous. Surface.

Play it louder.

Richard Parker

Have you seen Life of Pi, yet? Or read the book. I highly recommend both. The book is a must read for any bookworm (and I wouldn't be at all surprised if we saw it appear on every A level curriculum.) And the film is pretty true to the book, not to mention stunning. One of the only 3D films I enjoyed.

If you haven't seen or read either, and you don't like spoilers, don't read past this point.

The question is then, which story do you think is true? I've heard good answers for each, and pretty much everyone I've spoken too has a different reasons for which one they believe, but I'm going to stick by my own, because from both the book and film I only saw one way. I believe the story with the tiger. Why? Well, because I've just read/watched that story with my own eyes. It was right there in front  of me, whereas the second story was just told to me second hand. And so it goes with God. My interpretation is this; our world has a beautiful God created history, a wonderful, colourful, inspiring story that is so awesome some find it hard to believe and look for a more 'plausible' explanation.
