Painting Stars

I think I've mentioned before how much I love stargazing. I can stare at the sky for ages - which is a bad thing when you're driving! But it's been cloudy here in England for almost forever and other than one night last week when Jupiter made a gallant effort to shine through, I haven't seen the stars in far too long.

So I pulled out the old vintage star maps I found amongst my Grandpa's things and started doodling away. The constellations in my picture are all ones I know and recognise in the sky. Can you name any of them?

Lost in Thought

I have no doubt in my mind that animals have souls. Or that they experience emotions, just which and to what extent varies from species to species. Animals have different priorities to us, and to each other. I think it's pretty narrow minded to say that they are less intelligent than us, particularly when you look at the state the human race gets itself into sometimes. No, just because someone doesn't think the way we do, doesn't mean that they don't think at all.

This is for Lydia, who suggested I draw a gorilla, and who turned seventeen last Sunday. Happy week of birth Lydia!
